Empowering Karimojong Women

We are excited to announce our partnership with AWARE (African Women Advocacy for Rights and Empowerment), an organization dedicated to empowering Karimojong women and enhancing their social status. Through this collaboration, we aim to support AWARE in helping women build their confidence and gain recognition by actively participating in groups, while also securing their livelihoods, wellbeing, and that of their families.

AWARE operates in Kaabong, a remote district in the far-flung northern region of Karamoja, where the challenges are many, but the opportunities for change are even greater. The organization’s work in this area has been crucial in uplifting the lives of women who have long been marginalized.

Ending Child Marriage and Raising Voices

AWARE has been a leader in combating child marriage, which has long been a major issue in Karamoja. The organization’s efforts have helped end many cases of child marriage, allowing girls to regain their rights to education, health, and a better future. This initiative is helping shift the societal mindset and transform the lives of countless young girls.

Through our partnership, we’ve also worked to amplify AWARE’s voice, spreading awareness of their efforts to a wider audience. By raising the visibility of their work, we’re contributing to an inclusive action that calls for more support for Karimojong women and communities at large.

Together, we are making significant strides towards creating a brighter and more equal future for the women of Karamoja.
